Saya, nicknamed Shiny, is Tess' eldest daughter and Lysander's twin sister. She inherited her mother's psychokinetic powers, and is capable of using her mind to affect reality around her as easily as breathing. She holds great love for her family, and saw her brother as her other half for most of their childhood. Under her parents' tutelage, she quickly grew capable and confident in her abilities, but quickly began to suffer from the expectations she saw placed upon her parents as the defenders and leaders of the crew she had come to see as her family.

When her brother's stress reached its breaking point, Shiny made the choice to stand with her father against Lysander's rampage, a choice which sent her into recursive panic attacks as she continually failed to reconcile her choice to cut off and attack her other half, even in self-defense. She sought solace in her father's company, and began growing anxious when not in his company. Given her close proximity to Elise Maschenny as a kind of sister-aunt, her ways of thinking began to warp and change as she processed her experiences, an issue which did not vanish when Lysander was eventually returned to the fold.

Shiny is an upright individual who trusts in the rules governing her life above her gut. Her voice is gentle, but wavers almost musically, giving her speech a paradoxically confident yet unsure quality. Her psychokinetic abilities caused her to grow lithe, even lanky, an appearance betrayed by her intense physical strength even when not using any psychic powers.
