Medication swings him between bursts of clarity and stretches of lethargic dissociation. For all his skill, he remains convinced he’s the only one who needs help to earn his place.

Born on Altam II, Lear grew up alongside Tess. Their petty cybercrimes ended in catastrophe, trapping Riven and corrupting Tess’s implant. Guilt drove Lear into a stimulant addiction that never quite loosened its grip. He found solace with Sage and Erika, who know burnout, overstimulation, and substance abuse firsthand.
